Do you think the fruit flies come from decomposing mouse?
Recently I got so many fruit flies all over my flat. I should mention that a pest control person put some poison baits for the mice. I saw one dead and I am sure there are few dead under the wooden board floor .
I wonder if the fruit flies come from decomposing mouse?

This is called "spontaneous generation" and it was disproved around 1800! Ben Franklin believed in it, but Thomas Jefferson helped deny it. The 'fruit flies' (they aren't really) come larvae that come from eggs that are being laid in the dead mouse! The smell of the mouse is what attracted the adult flies to begin with! Flies only come from other flies, not mice!
